Masonry & Stonework

Masonry, Stone Veneer & Retaining Walls

Stone veneer, retaining walls, brick and block, chimneys, steps and stamped concrete across Monmouth County and NJ — built on solid footings by a licensed, insured crew that also handles the patio, drainage, and carpentry around it.

Why IAC Masonry

Stonework That Holds the Line

Good masonry is equal parts craft and engineering. A stone veneer wall or fireplace has to look timeless; a retaining wall has to hold tons of soil for decades without leaning or cracking. We do both — and we do the footing, drainage, and base prep underneath that decide whether the work lasts.

From a stone-veneer accent wall and hearth to a full retaining wall that levels a sloped yard, we build on proper footings with the right drainage behind the wall. It is the unglamorous part cut-rate crews skip, and it is exactly why our walls stay straight.

FAQ

Masonry Questions

What kind of masonry work does IAC do?
We handle stone veneer, retaining and seating walls, brick and block work, chimneys and outdoor fireplaces, front steps and stoops, and stamped concrete. We also repair and repoint existing masonry. Because IAC is a full home improvement company, the same crew can tie the masonry into patios, drainage, or carpentry.
How much does a retaining wall or stone veneer cost?
It depends heavily on the height and length of the wall, whether engineering is required, the square footage of stone face, site access, and the material you choose. Rather than guess, we come out, measure, and give you a clear itemized estimate for free.
Do retaining walls need engineering or a permit?
Shorter garden walls usually do not, but walls roughly four feet and taller, or walls holding back a driveway or structure, often require an engineered design and a permit. We handle the design, permit, and inspections so the wall is safe and code-compliant.
Can you repair or repoint existing brick and stone?
Yes. We repoint crumbling mortar joints, rebuild damaged steps and chimney crowns, and patch or reface tired brick and stone so it matches the original. Repair is often far cheaper than a full rebuild.
What is the difference between stone veneer and full stone?
Stone veneer is a thinner layer of real or manufactured stone applied over a wall, hearth, or column — it gives the full-stone look for less weight and cost. Full stone is solid and structural. We install both and will recommend the right one for your project and budget.
