FAQ

Tile Installation Questions

What's the difference between porcelain and ceramic?
Porcelain is denser, harder, and less porous than ceramic. Better for high-traffic floors and outdoor use. Ceramic is fine for walls and lower-traffic floors and costs less.
Can I add heated floors under tile?
Yes — we install electric radiant heat mats under tile during the install. Adds about $8-12/sqft to material cost. Perfect for cold NJ winters.
How long does tile installation take?
Most bathrooms (40-80 sqft) take 3-5 days. Larger areas like a kitchen floor (200+ sqft) take 5-7 days including grout curing time.
Do you do tile patterns and mosaics?
Absolutely — herringbone, basketweave, chevron, custom mosaics. We've done complex pattern work in homes across NJ.
How do I maintain tile and grout?
Tile is very low maintenance — sweep and mop with mild cleaner. Re-seal grout every 1-2 years (a quick DIY job we can guide you through).
