FAQ

Stairs & Railing Questions

Can you refinish painted stairs?
Yes. We strip or sand painted steps down to bare wood, then stain and seal them to match your floors - a popular, dramatic upgrade.
Do you replace just the treads or the whole staircase?
Either. We can re-tread an existing staircase, replace railings only, or rebuild the full stair structure depending on condition and your goals.
What railing styles do you offer?
Wood handrails with wood or wrought-iron balusters, modern metal, and custom newel posts. We'll match your home's style.
How long does a staircase project take?
A refinish is usually 2-3 days including dry time. New treads and railings typically take 3-5 days.
Are your stairs up to code?
Yes - we build to current NJ code for rise, run, railing height and baluster spacing for safety and resale.
